ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding the best way to treat shoulder fractures, specifically proximal humerus fractures, in adults aged 65 to 74. Researchers want to compare three different treatment methods: conservative care (which may include rest and physical therapy), open surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. By studying these options, the trial aims to determine which treatment leads to better recovery outcomes for older adults who have recently suffered this type of fracture.
To participate in the trial, individuals must have experienced a proximal humerus fracture within the past week and meet certain criteria, like having a body mass index (BMI) under 40. However, people with specific conditions, such as open fractures or severe multiple injuries, will not be eligible. If you join this study, you can expect to receive one of the treatments being tested and provide valuable information that could help improve care for future patients with similar injuries. The trial is currently not recruiting participants, but it will be important for those who meet the criteria to consider when it begins.
