ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new type of dental implant called subperiosteal implants, which are designed for people who have experienced significant bone loss in the upper jaw (maxilla) and can no longer support traditional implants. The goal is to see how these digitally created implants can help restore function and improve quality of life for patients who have lost their teeth and have advanced bone atrophy, which means their jawbone has become thinner or weaker.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be adults with a specific type of jawbone condition called Cawood and Howell class 4 or 5, which indicates severe bone loss. Importantly, they must have a 3D image of their jawbone taken from a CT scan, as this will help the researchers understand their individual condition better. The trial is currently looking for participants of all genders and ages between 18 and 65. Those who join can expect to receive detailed information about the procedure and ongoing support throughout the study. This trial is an exciting opportunity to potentially benefit from a new treatment option for those facing challenges due to bone loss in their jaw.
