ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special type of exercise that combines thinking and movement, called cognitive-motor exercise, to see how it affects stroke patients. The researchers want to find out if this exercise can help improve patients' ability to do two tasks at once, like moving their ankles while thinking about something else, and how it changes brain activity. The trial is currently recruiting participants aged 50 and older who have had a stroke for more than six months, can walk for at least a minute without help, and can follow instructions.
To participate, individuals should have a certain level of cognitive ability, as measured by a test called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, and must not be receiving any formal rehabilitation. There are some health conditions that would prevent someone from joining, such as serious heart problems or issues that would make it hard to exercise safely. Participants can expect to engage in exercises designed to boost both their physical movement and thinking skills, while also helping researchers learn more about how the brain works after a stroke.
