ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how well a simple mobility test, called the Five Times Sit To Stand test, can be conducted through both in-person and remote consultations for older adults. The study involves two groups of participants aged 65 and older who can move around independently. One group will have their test done during a remote consultation first, followed by an in-person visit with a physiotherapist, while the other group will do it in the opposite order.
To join the trial, participants must be over 65 years old, able to walk on their own, and capable of understanding and agreeing to take part. Some individuals may not qualify if they have significant visual or hearing impairments, certain health issues that could cause them to faint, or if they are under legal guardianship. Those who participate can expect to take the mobility test in both settings, helping researchers find out if remote consultations are just as effective as seeing a physiotherapist in person. This study is important as it could improve how rehabilitation services are delivered to elderly people, especially during times when in-person visits are challenging.
