ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding the effectiveness of a specific type of prostate biopsy called transperineal biopsy in diagnosing prostate cancer (PCa) over the past decade. Prostate cancer is a common cancer that affects men, and it can range from slow-growing forms that need little treatment to aggressive types that can be life-threatening. The study aims to explore how well this biopsy method has worked in detecting different types of prostate cancer in a population in West China, using data from over 10,000 cases spanning from 2011 to 2022. Researchers hope to learn more about trends in biopsy results and how the characteristics of prostate cancer may differ among various populations.
To be part of this study, participants need to be men who were suspected of having prostate cancer and underwent this specific biopsy technique at the medical center during the study period. Unfortunately, men with other types of cancer will not be eligible. If you or someone you know fits this description, participating in this trial could help improve understanding of prostate cancer diagnosis and ultimately lead to better treatment options in the future.
