ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating the use of immersive virtual reality (VR) as a new treatment for patients who have unilateral spatial neglect (USN) after a stroke. USN is a condition that makes it difficult for people to notice things on one side, which can affect their daily activities. The study aims to see if using VR, combined with music practice, can help patients improve their ability to recognize and interact with their environment better than traditional rehabilitation methods.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be adults over 18 years old with a stroke-related brain injury that has caused USN. They should be enrolled in the French social security system and able to provide informed consent. During the trial, participants will be randomly assigned to either a group receiving standard rehabilitation or a group receiving both standard rehabilitation and the immersive VR treatment, lasting for two weeks. Researchers will assess the patients before and after the treatment to understand how well the VR therapy works and how it may influence their mood and motivation. If you or someone you know is interested, this could be an exciting opportunity to participate in innovative stroke rehabilitation research!
