ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a special type of breathing support called INTELLiVENT-ASV, which automatically adjusts to help patients with acute brain injuries (ABI) breathe easier. While this method has been successful in other critically ill patients, this study aims to see how well it works specifically for those with brain injuries, ensuring it is both safe and effective. The researchers will look at how well this system protects both the brain and the lungs during treatment.
To participate in the study, individuals must be at least 18 years old, be receiving breathing support through a tube (invasive ventilation) due to a brain injury, and be admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Unfortunately, those using a different type of ventilator that does not support INTELLiVENT-ASV cannot join. Participants will be closely monitored throughout the trial, and their breathing data will be collected to help researchers understand the system’s effectiveness.
