ClinConnect Summary
The TRANPAS trial is a research study aimed at improving treatment for adults who have both anorexia nervosa (a serious eating disorder) and autism spectrum disorder. The study will focus on creating a special care area in a hospital to provide tailored support for these patients. Researchers want to see how this customized environment affects patients' weight, eating habits, and symptoms related to their eating disorder and anxiety. The goal is to find better ways to help individuals in this group, as they often face more challenges in recovering from anorexia.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be 25 years or older, diagnosed with both anorexia nervosa and autism spectrum disorder, and require inpatient care for their eating disorder. Unfortunately, those who are younger than 25 or not in need of inpatient treatment won’t qualify. Participants can expect to receive specialized care in a supportive setting designed to meet their unique needs, while contributing to valuable research that could help others in similar situations in the future.
