ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new method for diagnosing a condition called biliary stricture, which is a narrowing of the bile ducts. The researchers want to see if using a special camera called digital single-operator cholangioscopy (SOC) and a tool called intraductal ultrasound (IDUS) can help doctors get clearer pictures and make more accurate diagnoses. This is especially important for patients who have biliary strictures that are not linked to jaundice (yellowing of the skin), which can sometimes be difficult to diagnose.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be between 19 and 79 years old and have a specific type of biliary stricture. They should have had a previous procedure to help open up the bile duct. However, people who have a bleeding tendency or cannot undergo a certain procedure called ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) will not be eligible. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to help researchers learn more about this new diagnostic approach, which could lead to better care for patients with similar conditions in the future.
