ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different types of chewing gum—specifically, xylitol-based chewing gums (both sugar-free and sugared)—affect saliva production and pH levels in young adults. Saliva plays an important role in oral health, so understanding how these gums influence it can help improve dental care.
To participate, you need to be healthy and have at least 20 teeth. The study is open to all genders and is currently recruiting participants aged between 18 and 25. However, if you have certain health conditions, take specific medications, or have dental issues like gum disease or cavities, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you will be asked to chew the provided gums and follow some simple procedures while your saliva flow and pH are measured. This research could provide valuable insights into the benefits of chewing gum for oral health.
