ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a community-based rehabilitation program designed for stroke patients who have difficulty swallowing, a condition known as dysphagia. The goal is to see if a structured swallowing training program, where patients practice swallowing exercises in public spaces for one hour a day, five days a week over four weeks, can help improve their swallowing abilities. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will receive the swallowing training, while the other group will not receive any intervention. Their swallowing function, mood, and meal times will be assessed before and after the program to measure any changes.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be over 65 years old and should not have been hospitalized in the past six months. They need to be able to understand and follow instructions and should be experiencing early signs of swallowing difficulties. However, people with severe health issues, those with physical disabilities, or those receiving other treatments for similar conditions cannot take part. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable information about effective rehabilitation strategies for older adults recovering from strokes.
