ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a special tool called the Pain in Advanced Dementia (PAINAD) scale can help emergency department staff better care for patients with dementia who are experiencing hip pain. The goal is to see if using this tool in the electronic health records can help doctors and nurses accurately assess pain levels in these patients, leading to more effective pain treatment.
To participate in this study, patients need to be at least 65 years old, arrive at the emergency department complaining of hip pain, and have a history of dementia noted in their medical records. If you or a loved one meets these criteria, you may be eligible to join the trial. Participants will be able to contribute to an important effort aimed at improving pain management for older adults with dementia in emergency situations.
