ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at new ways to help women get screened for cervical cancer, especially those who haven't attended screening programs in a while. The study will compare the standard method of inviting women to clinical screenings with two home-based options where women can collect samples themselves. Some women will receive a self-sampling kit by mail, while others will get an invitation asking if they'd like to receive the kit. This way, women can take the test in the comfort of their own homes.
To be eligible for this study, women need to be between 26 and 60 years old and should have missed their cervical cancer screening for at least a year. If you join the trial, you'll either get the usual invitation for a clinical screening or one of the home sampling kits. The samples collected at home will be tested for HPV, a virus linked to cervical cancer. If you test positive for high-risk HPV, your family doctor will coordinate further testing in a clinical setting. This study aims to see which method encourages more women to participate in cervical cancer screening and is also looking at the costs involved.
