ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a treatment called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to see if it can help people who are struggling with Methamphetamine Use Disorder. The study will involve participants receiving either real TMS treatment or a placebo (sham-TMS), which is a type of treatment that looks like the real thing but doesn't actually provide the therapy. Participants will attend five consecutive treatment sessions, and the trial is currently looking for individuals aged 18 and older who are actively seeking help for their methamphetamine use and are enrolled in a specific treatment program at Carilion Clinic.
To be eligible, participants must be currently dealing with Methamphetamine Use Disorder and not have issues with alcohol or benzodiazepine use. If someone joins the trial, they can expect to receive treatment over the course of several sessions, and their progress will be monitored closely. This research aims to find out if TMS can be an effective tool in helping individuals recover from methamphetamine addiction.
