ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of Virtual Reality (VR) exercises to help patients who have been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) recover better. Many patients who spend time in the ICU experience weakness and difficulties with their hands and arms, which can affect their overall physical and mental health. The trial aims to see if a 4-week VR exergame program can improve handgrip strength, hand and arm movement, balance, and mobility in these patients.
To participate, you should have stayed in the ICU for at least 48 hours, live near one of the Frisian hospitals, and be able to understand Dutch. You also need to have motor skills in at least one arm. If you have severe confusion, serious memory problems, or an internal cardiac defibrillator, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you will engage in safe VR-based exercises, which are voluntary and designed to support your recovery. The research team hopes to find out how helpful this VR program can be for improving standard care for ICU patients.
