ClinConnect Summary

The M3-JIA trial is studying a program called Making Mindfulness Matter (M3) designed for children aged 4 to 12 who have Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and their caregivers. This 8-week online program aims to help families cope with the challenges of living with a chronic illness by teaching mindfulness skills, emotional learning, and positive thinking. Participants will learn fun and engaging ways to manage stress and improve mental well-being, all while connecting with others in similar situations.

To be eligible for this study, children must be between 4 and 12 years old and have a diagnosis of JIA. They should be able to understand spoken language and follow simple instructions. Additionally, both the child and their caregiver need to be comfortable using technology and have a good understanding of English. It's important to note that children with other serious health issues or those already participating in other similar studies or mindfulness practices won't be able to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to gain valuable skills that can help you and your family navigate the emotional aspects of living with JIA.
