ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how learning to play the piano might impact the development of Alzheimer's disease. The main question the researchers want to answer is whether practicing the piano can help slow down or change the progression of Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. Participants will take piano lessons for four weeks, with a total of 20 sessions, and their progress will be carefully evaluated throughout the trial.

To be eligible for this study, individuals should be experiencing mild to moderate stages of cognitive decline, specifically those categorized in global deterioration stages 2, 3, or 4. Unfortunately, those in other stages or who may not be able to participate fully during the lessons won't be able to join. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to gather important information about how engaging in musical activities like playing the piano could potentially benefit brain health and cognitive function in people facing dementia.
