ClinConnect Summary
The COPD CARE Study is looking at how a virtual healthcare service, called NuvoAir, can help people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The goal is to see if this new approach can lead to fewer serious COPD flare-ups and heart problems, while also reducing the number of doctor's visits and overall healthcare costs compared to traditional care. This study will involve up to 1,050 participants over a year and is designed to help improve the quality of care for individuals living with COPD.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to have been diagnosed with COPD and experienced a serious flare-up in the past year that required an emergency room visit or hospitalization. They should also be able to understand and follow instructions, have access to a phone, and be willing to share their health information with doctors involved in the study. Participants can expect to engage with the virtual service, which may include remote check-ins and support from healthcare providers, all from the comfort of their own home. This study is currently not recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into new ways to manage COPD effectively.
