ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called MEBP-OSA, is investigating whether melatonin can help improve sleep and lower nighttime blood pressure in adults with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). People with OSA often struggle with sleep issues and may experience a pattern where their blood pressure does not drop at night as it should. The main goal of the study is to see if taking melatonin can help these patients maintain better sleep and restore the normal nighttime drop in blood pressure.

To participate in this trial, you need to be diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and have been found to have non-dipping blood pressure through a monitoring test. Unfortunately, if you are currently taking sleep or psychiatric medications, using devices like CPAP for sleep apnea, or have certain neurological or psychiatric disorders, you won’t be eligible to join. If you are eligible and decide to participate, you can expect to receive more information about how the study will work and what you will need to do. This is a great opportunity to contribute to research that could lead to better treatments for people with OSA.
