ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a specific method for a medical procedure called ERCP, which is used to treat diseases of the bile ducts. The researchers want to see if following a particular set of guidelines, known as the ESGE algorithm, can help doctors successfully access the bile duct more often and potentially reduce complications like pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas that can occur after the procedure.

To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and have a normal papilla, which is the opening where the bile duct connects to the intestine. You also need to provide consent to take part in the study. However, if you have had certain previous surgeries or conditions, like a prior bile duct surgery or tumors, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect close monitoring during and after the procedure to ensure your safety and gather information about the effectiveness of this new approach. The trial is currently looking for participants, so if you or a loved one are interested, it’s a good opportunity to contribute to important medical research.
