ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a procedure called gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy (GPOEM), which helps people with gastroparesis—a condition that slows down the stomach’s ability to empty. The goal of the study is to see how a specific test called Gastric Alimetry can predict how well GPOEM will work for patients. By understanding these outcomes better, researchers hope to develop guidelines that will help doctors choose the right patients for this procedure.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be 18 years or older and be recommended for GPOEM. However, those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain skin conditions that make it hard to complete the Gastric Alimetry test will not be able to join. If you participate, you’ll have the Gastric Alimetry test about a month before the GPOEM procedure, and then you’ll be followed up with for a year to track your progress. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and it provides an opportunity to contribute to important research that could improve treatment for others with similar conditions.
