ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the MySmile app, which is designed to help improve oral health in secondary school children, specifically those aged 15 to 17. The researchers want to see if using the MySmile app, along with regular school dental services, can lead to better dental health and knowledge about oral care compared to just using the school services alone. They will look at things like dental plaque (the sticky film on teeth) and gum health, as well as how well students understand and practice good oral hygiene.
To participate, students need to be from government-funded secondary schools, have a medium to high level of dental plaque, and be able to understand English. They should also have access to an Android smartphone. If chosen for the study, participants will receive the MySmile app and school dental services, while some will only receive the dental services. The researchers will check how easy the app is to use and how acceptable it is among the students. Overall, this trial aims to find out if the MySmile app can make a real difference in the oral health of young people.
