ClinConnect Summary
The PRO-FUTURE Project is a study aimed at understanding certain biological markers in young children who have a condition called unilateral ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO). This condition affects how urine flows from the kidneys to the bladder, which can lead to kidney problems. The researchers want to find out if testing urine samples and blood can help doctors better understand kidney damage and healing in babies with UPJO. They are looking specifically at children aged 0 to 5 years who have this condition and comparing them to children without it.
To participate in this study, children must be diagnosed with unilateral UPJO, which means the blockage is only on one side. However, children with other urinary issues, previous surgeries, or certain infections cannot join. Families who take part in the study can expect to provide urine and blood samples during routine check-ups, helping researchers gather important information that could improve future diagnosis and treatment for UPJO. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to make a difference in how we understand and treat this condition in young children.
