ClinConnect Summary
The London Asthma Diagnostics Study is a clinical trial aimed at improving how we diagnose asthma in adults. Researchers want to find out if adding a new test called oscillometry, which measures how well your lungs are working, along with standard tests like spirometry (which checks airflow) and FeNO (which measures inflammation in your lungs), can help doctors diagnose asthma more accurately. They will compare the results from these tests to a confirmed asthma diagnosis made by experienced lung doctors.
To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and have been referred by your doctor for possible asthma. You should be willing to let your doctor know about your involvement in the trial. During your regular clinic visit, you will undergo the oscillometry test along with your usual asthma tests. You will also have the option to take part in additional studies, such as exploring new breath and nasal swab tests for asthma or sharing your thoughts on asthma testing. It's important to note that this study is not yet recruiting participants, so keep an eye out for updates if you're interested!
