ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a mobile app designed to help patients recover after thyroid surgery, known as thyroidectomy. The app will provide important information and support to manage common post-surgery issues like neck pain, discomfort, and voice changes, which can affect a patient’s quality of life. The goal is to improve recovery and overall well-being by offering education and resources that patients can access anytime, even after they leave the hospital.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old, be able to read and write, and have a planned thyroidectomy. They should also be first-time thyroid surgery patients and own a smartphone with internet access. If chosen to participate, patients will use the mobile app starting from their hospital stay and continue using it during their recovery at home. This study is important because it aims to fill the gap in post-surgery education and support, which can often be overlooked in busy hospital settings.
