ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to see if a new program called Lifestyle MIND can help people with serious mental illnesses, like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, manage their type 2 diabetes better. The trial will divide participants into two groups: one group will start the Lifestyle MIND program right away, while the other group will wait to begin the program. Researchers want to find out if the program improves blood sugar levels, helps people stick to their diabetes management plans, encourages them to stay active, and affects their overall well-being.
To participate, individuals need to have a serious mental illness and type 2 diabetes or be at risk for diabetes. They should be willing to commit to the study for 20 weeks and be able to complete some questionnaires. However, those who cannot take part in the exercise portion of the program will not be eligible. This trial is still in the planning stages and has not started recruiting participants yet. It aims to provide valuable insights into how lifestyle changes can support both physical and mental health for those affected.
