ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on developing a tool to help predict the risk of early biliary stasis after bariatric surgery, which is a type of weight-loss surgery. Biliary stasis occurs when bile, a digestive fluid, doesn't flow properly, and it can lead to complications. The researchers aim to create a model that will help doctors identify patients who may be at higher risk for this condition after surgery.
To participate in the trial, you would need to be between the ages of 18 and 65 and have a body mass index (BMI) of 32.5 or higher, along with conditions related to obesity, or a BMI over 35 without other medical issues. Participants will need to provide complete medical information before and after the surgery. However, those who have had other types of bariatric surgery or who cannot safely undergo the procedure are not eligible. If you join this study, you’ll be contributing to important research that may help improve outcomes for future patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
