ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether teaching doctors in training how to use safe body movements—called ergonomic body positions—can help prevent injuries while they perform surgeries. The researchers want to find out if hands-on practice along with classroom lessons makes a difference in how well the doctors learn to move safely. Participants will be split into two groups. One group will receive extra practice and feedback based on video recordings of their movements, while the other group will only attend the classroom lesson without additional practice.
To participate, you must be a resident in the obstetrics and gynecology program at Montefiore, specifically in the first four years of your training. The study will include quizzes to see what participants learn, as well as surveys to gather feedback on how helpful they found the class and practice sessions. After two months, participants will be videotaped again to see if they remember and continue using the safe movements they learned. This trial aims to improve the safety and well-being of doctors as they train and perform surgeries.
