ClinConnect Summary
This study is comparing two ways to support a full-arch dental prosthesis (a denture that is attached to four implants) in people who are missing all lower teeth. One option uses a traditional metal framework, the other uses a PEEK framework (a strong, tooth-colored plastic). Participants are randomly assigned to one of the two groups, and the study keeps the treatment assignment hidden from the patient and some staff to keep results fair. Over up to 3 years, researchers will check how accurately the surgical guides help place the implants, whether the implants and prostheses survive without major problems, how much pain people feel after surgery, and overall satisfaction with the results.
Eligible adults are 18 or older, in good general health with no major health issues that would prevent implant surgery, and who have enough bone in the lower jaw to place four implants (at least 10 mm tall and a ridge width of 5.5 mm). Participants should be able to attend regular follow-up visits. The plan is to enroll about 30 people at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. The study includes imaging and computer-guided implant surgery, and participants will wear a temporary denture before the final prosthesis, with follow-ups over three years to monitor implants, the prosthesis, and oral health.
