ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how eating more tomatoes might help people with a liver condition called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and also improve some gut issues, like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The study will explore whether a tomato-rich diet can reduce liver fat and inflammation, improve gut health, and positively affect body weight and overall metabolism.
To participate, you need to be between 18 and 75 years old and have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or lower, along with a diagnosis of liver steatosis (fatty liver). Unfortunately, if you have a BMI over 30, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have serious health issues that could affect your ability to join, you won’t be eligible. If you qualify, you will be part of a study that might help improve your health by simply adding more tomatoes to your diet, while also giving researchers valuable information about the effects of nutrition on liver and gut health.
