ClinConnect Summary
The Centering Gender Affirming Resources in Higher Education (CARE) project is a research study aimed at helping transgender and gender diverse (TGD) students who may be at a higher risk of experiencing sexual violence and heavy drinking. This trial is part of a larger study focused on reducing alcohol-related sexual violence in colleges. CARE will test a new training program for college health and counseling center providers to help them understand and better support TGD students. The goal is to make these services more accessible and effective, ultimately reducing rates of alcohol use and sexual violence among these students.
If you are a provider working with undergraduate students in health and counseling settings, you may be eligible to participate in this study. This includes roles like counselors, nurses, social workers, and health educators. Participants can expect to receive training that focuses on inclusive practices for TGD individuals, and the study will assess how well this training works. The findings could lead to improved support for TGD students in universities, making these resources more welcoming and effective for everyone involved.
