ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to predict serious heart and brain problems in older patients who are having non-cardiac surgery, which is any surgery that doesn’t involve the heart. These complications can include events like heart attacks, strokes, or severe heart issues, and they can be especially concerning for patients over 65 years old. With more elderly people undergoing surgeries that don’t involve the heart, it’s important to find ways to identify those who might be at higher risk for these complications.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 65 years old and scheduled for elective (planned) non-cardiac surgery. They also need to provide consent to take part in the study. Participants can expect to help researchers develop a prediction model that could improve safety and outcomes for future patients. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to better understand the risks involved with surgery for older adults, ultimately hoping to reduce the chances of serious complications after surgery.
