ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how Brazil nut supplementation may help patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who are receiving conservative treatment. The focus is to see if taking Brazil nuts can reduce inflammation, lower oxidative stress (which is related to cell damage), and improve gut health by looking at the intestinal microbiota, which is the community of bacteria living in our intestines.
To participate in this study, you must be a patient who has been monitored for nutrition for more than three months at a specific clinic and be in stages G3a to G4 of chronic kidney disease. However, if you have taken antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, or antioxidant supplements in the last three months, or have certain allergies or health conditions, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you will likely be asked to take Brazil nuts and may be monitored for any changes in your health related to inflammation and gut health. This study is in the planning stage, so they are not recruiting participants yet, but it aims to provide valuable insights into managing kidney disease.
