ClinConnect Summary
The FamCe-HLP trial is a study designed to help families with children who are overweight or obese. The main goal is to see if a special program called the Fam-Ce-HLP can help improve the weight and health of both mothers and their children compared to families who do not participate in the program. This program lasts seven months and includes a three-month intensive therapy followed by four months of ongoing support, focusing on changing behaviors related to health and lifestyle.
To participate, families must include a mother and child aged 6 to 12 who are Omani and have a weight concern. The mother should be at least 18 years old and able to read and write in Arabic. They should also be medically cleared to take part in exercise sessions. However, families currently involved in other weight loss programs or with certain health issues may not be eligible. Participants can expect to learn new ways to manage weight and improve health while working closely with healthcare providers throughout the trial.
