ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to close the skin after a total hip replacement surgery. The researchers want to see if using the Zip IIS Line, which is a special type of closure, results in fewer problems with the wound compared to the standard closure method, which uses staples or a different kind of thread. They will check for things like infections, the need for additional surgeries, and how well the wound heals and looks afterwards.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 89 years old and scheduled for a total hip replacement. However, there are some people who may not be eligible, such as those with certain health conditions like severe obesity or diabetes, individuals who are on steroids, or those who smoke. If you join the trial, you will be closely monitored after your surgery to track your recovery and how well your wound heals. This research aims to improve outcomes for patients undergoing hip replacement, making recovery smoother and safer for everyone.
