ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking into how a treatment called photobiomodulation (PBM) can help young children, specifically neonates and infants, who have a condition called acute viral bronchiolitis (AVB) caused by a virus known as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). During this illness, the body's immune system reacts in various ways, sometimes causing more inflammation and discomfort. The researchers want to see if PBM, which uses low-level lasers to potentially improve breathing and reduce inflammation, can be a helpful therapy for these children.

To participate in the trial, children must be diagnosed with AVB due to RSV when they are admitted to the hospital. However, some children, such as those with certain heart or lung problems, or who have had specific medications or conditions, may not be eligible. If a child joins the study, they can expect a quick and easy treatment that is well-tolerated, with minimal side effects. This trial aims to find a practical and effective way to help improve the health of young patients battling this common respiratory illness.
