ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a new way to monitor blood pressure and blood flow in elderly patients who need surgery for a common type of hip fracture called a proximal femur fracture. The study aims to compare a continuous, non-invasive method of tracking these vital signs with traditional blood pressure checks. Researchers hope that using this advanced monitoring technique will help reduce the time patients spend in the hospital and lower the chances of complications after surgery.
To participate in this trial, patients must be over 65 years old and in fair to good health, meaning they should not have serious heart or vascular issues, allergies to local anesthesia, or other specific medical conditions. If eligible, participants will receive the standard care for their surgery but will also be closely monitored using the new method. This could provide valuable information that may improve care for future patients undergoing similar surgeries.
