ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a new teaching method, called the flipped learning model, can help first-year nursing students learn about stoma care better. Stoma care is important for patients who have undergone surgery to create an opening in the abdomen for waste removal. In the study, 100 nursing students will be randomly divided into two groups. One group will use digital materials like videos and presentations to learn, while the other group will receive traditional teaching without extra resources. Researchers will measure how much knowledge and confidence the students gain in stoma care before and after the training.
To be eligible for the study, students must be first-year nursing students who are willing to participate, have access to a smartphone or computer, and have continuous internet access. However, students who have already studied health-related subjects or taken nursing fundamentals won't be included. Participants can expect to take a few assessments at the beginning and end of the study to see how much they have learned and how confident they feel in their abilities to care for stomas. This trial aims to improve nursing education and ultimately enhance patient care for those with stomas.
