ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two different surgical techniques for treating a specific type of finger injury called acute bony mallet finger. This injury happens when the tendon that straightens the finger gets damaged, often from an injury that forces the finger to bend too far. The study is comparing two methods: one uses a blocking wire, which is a less invasive approach, and the other uses a micro plate, which helps keep the bone in the correct position and allows for quicker movement after surgery.

To be eligible for this trial, participants need to have a bony mallet finger injury that affects more than one-third of the joint surface or causes the bone to move out of place. People with more severe injuries, like crushed fingers or multiple fractures, won't be included. If you join the trial, you'll receive one of the two treatments and be monitored for how well your finger heals and how comfortable you feel after the surgery. This study aims to find out which method works better for recovery and patient comfort.
