ClinConnect Summary
The Futuros Fuertes 2.0 clinical trial is designed to help improve the health of low-income Latino infants and toddlers by promoting better feeding, screen time, and sleep habits. In this study, parents or caregivers will receive guidance and support from health educators during their primary care visits in the first two years of their child's life. Families will also receive helpful tips through text messages twice a week. Half of the families will participate in the program focused on healthy habits, while the other half will receive general health coaching about safety and managing common childhood illnesses. Researchers will measure how this program affects children's weight and health behaviors.
To participate in this trial, parents or caregivers need to identify as Latino and speak either Spanish or English. They should plan to take their infant, who is at least 37 weeks old and weighs over 5.5 pounds, to a participating clinic for regular check-ups. If they have twins or triplets, one will be selected at random for the study. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it's an important step toward understanding how to support young children's health in the Latino community.
