ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a medication called sugammadex to see how it helps patients undergoing head and neck surgery, especially those who have had issues with urination after previous surgeries. The main goal is to find out if sugammadex can help prevent problems with urination after surgery in patients who have a history of urinary retention, enlarged prostate, or prostate cancer. Researchers want to compare sugammadex to another medication, neostigmine/glycopyrrolate, to see which works better for these patients.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be over 18 years old and scheduled for a head and neck surgery that will take less than two hours. They should also have a history of urinary retention or have been diagnosed with benign prostatic hypertrophy or prostate cancer. It’s important to note that individuals who cannot give their consent or have certain other health conditions may not be able to participate. If you or a loved one qualify for this trial, you can expect to receive careful monitoring and support throughout the process to ensure safety and comfort.
