ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a new meal service in the hospital affects the amount of food patients eat. The study aims to understand if this "three channel food concept" can help improve the energy and protein intake of patients who may not be getting enough nutrition while they are hospitalized. Researchers will measure how much food is eaten by weighing the leftovers on patients' plates after meals.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and admitted to a surgical ward at MUMC+ for at least three days. However, if you are receiving nutrition through a tube or are not allowed to eat anything, you won’t be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect that your food intake will be monitored as part of your regular care, and your thoughts about the meals will also be considered. This study is important because it aims to improve the nutrition of patients during their hospital stay, which can help with recovery.
