ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the role of a specific protein called NLRP6 in people with chronic periodontitis, which is a serious gum disease that can lead to tooth loss. The researchers want to understand how levels of NLRP6 in the blood relate to the severity of periodontitis. To do this, they will collect blood samples from participants who have been diagnosed with this condition and do not have other serious health issues. They’ll also look at information like age and dental health to see how these factors connect with NLRP6 levels.
To be part of this study, you need to be at least 25 years old and have chronic periodontitis, while having at least 15 teeth. However, people with certain conditions like oral cancer, recent periodontal treatment, diabetes, or those who smoke cannot participate. If you join the trial, you’ll provide a blood sample and answer questions about your dental and overall health. This research aims to improve our understanding of chronic periodontitis and could lead to better treatment options in the future.
