ClinConnect Summary
The Gait Spine Functional Evaluation Protocol is a clinical trial that aims to create and test a new method to assess how the spine and body move while walking. This study will help researchers understand the movements of people with healthy spines compared to those with scoliosis, a condition that affects the curvature of the spine. By using special cameras to track movement, they hope to answer important questions about whether this assessment method works well and is easy to use.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 40 and have either a healthy spine or a diagnosis of idiopathic scoliosis (a common type of scoliosis), you might be eligible to participate. Participants will be asked to walk barefoot on a straight path while special markers are placed on their bodies to capture their movements. This will involve walking five times at a comfortable speed. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to research that could help improve understanding of spine health and movement.
