ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the connection between fatty liver disease and breast cancer. Fatty liver disease, especially the type not caused by alcohol (called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or NAFLD), can occur in many people and may be linked to various health issues, including breast cancer. The trial aims to understand how having fatty liver disease might affect breast cancer treatment and outcomes, particularly in women aged 65 and older who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

To participate in this study, women must be between 65 and 74 years old, in good overall health, and able to carry out daily activities, although some limitations are allowed. Participants can expect to undergo regular assessments during the trial to monitor their health and any changes related to both fatty liver disease and breast cancer. It’s important to note that individuals with other serious health conditions or those who have been diagnosed with another type of cancer are not eligible to join. This study hopes to shed light on how fatty liver disease may impact breast cancer treatment and recovery.
