ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment for osteoarticular infections, which are infections that affect bones and joints. Specifically, the researchers want to see how effective a special bone substitute called PerOssal®, which contains antibiotics, is when used during surgery. Traditional treatments often require a lot of surgery and can take a long time to heal, but this new method aims to deliver antibiotics directly to the infected area while also helping the bone to heal. The study will follow patients who have had surgery for these infections to see how well they recover, including whether their infections go away and how well their bones heal.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be over 12 years old and have a fracture-related infection that has been confirmed by tests. They should also be planning to have surgery where local antibiotics can be used. Unfortunately, those with other types of bone infections or unconfirmed diagnoses won't be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to have your health closely monitored before and after your surgery, and the researchers will collect information to compare this new treatment with traditional methods. This study is important because it could lead to better and safer treatment options for patients with osteoarticular infections in the future.
