ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how two different methods of pain management and a type of surgery called laparotomy affect the function of the diaphragm, which is an important muscle for breathing. Researchers want to understand if these factors influence how well patients recover after major abdominal surgeries related to conditions like colorectal cancer and stomach surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and scheduled for a major abdominal surgery. However, individuals with certain conditions, such as a high body weight (BMI over 35), communication difficulties, or previous major surgeries on the abdomen or chest, cannot join. If you do participate, you can expect to be monitored for your diaphragm function and pain management after your surgery. This could help improve recovery strategies for future patients undergoing similar procedures.
