ClinConnect Summary
The DETECT-B trial is a study aimed at improving how we test for and treat Hepatitis B, a viral infection that affects the liver. Researchers want to see if a new approach, which includes better testing services and linking patients to care, can work well in a public healthcare setting. They will look at how effective this new model is in getting more people tested and treated, how well it is carried out, and the costs involved in implementing it.
Patients who visit Le Van Thinh Hospital's outpatient clinics during the study will be eligible to participate, especially those who agree to a quick test for Hepatitis B (called point-of-care HBsAg testing) during the last four months of the study. There are no specific exclusions for patients, meaning anyone coming to the clinic can potentially join. Healthcare providers and leaders involved in the outpatient department will also be part of the study if they consent to participate in interviews or focus groups. Overall, this trial is important because it aims to find better ways to help people get tested and treated for Hepatitis B, making care more accessible and effective.
