ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain symptoms related to central sensitization (a condition that can make pain feel worse) affect the results of steroid injections in people with shoulder pain, specifically those with rotator cuff issues or subacromial impingement syndrome. The researchers want to find out if patients who experience more severe central sensitization before receiving an injection will have a poorer response to the treatment. This is important because understanding this relationship could help improve treatment options for people suffering from chronic shoulder pain.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old and have been diagnosed with a rotator cuff problem that hasn't improved with other medical treatments. You should also be able to read and write, and you must agree to take part in the study. Unfortunately, if you've had shoulder surgery recently, experienced a shoulder injury, or have certain health conditions like active cancer or infections, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive a steroid injection in your shoulder and help researchers learn more about how to better treat shoulder pain in the future.
