ClinConnect Summary
The "Motivating Adolescent Fitness" trial is looking at whether using mobile technology, like a fitness watch and a phone app, can help young people aged 13 to 16 start and stick with regular exercise. In this study, participants will get advice and support from an exercise expert on how to be more active. Half of the participants will also use a fitness watch that connects to an app, allowing the expert to give them personalized feedback and encouragement throughout their exercise journey. The researchers want to see if having this technology makes it easier for teens to reach their fitness goals compared to those who don't receive any exercise program.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 13 and 16 years old and comfortable speaking English. They also need to own a smartphone and have access to data or Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, those who are already very active, have certain health conditions (like heart problems, asthma, or diabetes), or are pregnant won’t be able to participate. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help young people discover new ways to stay fit and healthy.
